A Mutual Fund is an open-ended fund operated by investment company,banks,or any other non banking finance companies.A mutual fund is a company which rises money from many people and invest it in stocks,bonds,and many other financial assets are known as its portfolio.Each investor in this funds owns shares,which represent a part of these holdings.
Each mutual fund has a specific stated objective like Equity,Debt,Money Market,Balanced.
Equity(Growth) = only in stocks
Debt(Income) = only in fixed income securities
Money Market = in short term money market instruments (including government securities)
Balanced = partly in stocks and partly in fixed income securities to make balance in risk and returns.
